From Sewing Needles To Pinhole Camera.

Way back in another life, my partner of the time was given a sewing box that belonged to her great Aunt. It came my way after my partner of those times died in 2011. It took me a while to even look inside the old box, but when I did, it struck me that it would make an ideal pinhole camera, and that would in itself, give memory and respect to all concerned.

A couple of days ago, I made some modifications by changing the pinhole to 0.6, and patching up here and there. The intention is to use it as a 'street camera', and to blast off, I will cut some old photographic paper down to 4x5 size and take it into town and let it sample the summer air.

At the moment, I'm housebound with COVID, so it be several days before I can get out and about. By the way, the pinhole I've used with this box, came free with the Big Yellow Camera several years ago, so it will be interesting to see the results. Tired, need water and lots of sleep.

Two Weeks Of 4 X 5.

As I write, I should have been preparing myself for a hospital procedure tomorrow morning (Sunday). However the BIG C as in COVID has laid me low, so I have been housebound, in much discomfort, so what is the best thing to do? WORK.

Gathering together my processed Zebra Glad Plates, film and paper negatives, to get them logged and filed and update this blog. Putting away all other cameras for the next fortnight, all the big machines are coming out, right up until my re-booked appointment with the fabulous NHS in two weeks time, So lets have a ball in the 14 days to come.

Here I have produced some collage images, using Pixelmator and Pixlr apps, as well as the onboard photo apps on my iPhone 12. I have film to develop and trying out a new, home made portable 4x5 camera, made from a sewing box. Lots to do, lots to explore. All I need is a single line reading on the Covid test Well and I will be out the door.

Other stuff, my outdoor darkroom (almost there), finishing off a box of outdated Jessops Photographic paper (used for paper negs). and lots, yes lots of scanning. I need a cup of green tea.

Blackberry Way.

In may ways, I miss my old Blackberry phone. It was an amazing and tough piece of kit, and I thought had a very good camera. Here are some ...
